Google Plus Is Social Media Growing
By ikechiawazie
Don’t you just love babies; cute little fragile beings, born into the world and are the apple of their parents’ eyes; they are the admiration of parents, cared for, loved and most times pampered. As babies, parents are ready to tolerate anything from them; it does not matter what they do, it’s just ok in the sight of the parent because in the eyes they are so helpless and need all the attention in the world
However, as these babies become adolescents and then adults, things change. As parents begin to interact with them and watch them grow, their expectation of them changes; no more are they fragile but are now independent and therefore need to behave in a more matured way.
DOES THIS RING A BELL?
When Facebook was introduced to the world, it was a beautiful baby admired by us, its parents, as there was a need to have social interaction on the internet AMONG FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES, COLLEAGUES AND PEERS (babies) and we accepted it with admiration as long as it satisfied our desire. However after much interaction and we watched it grow, we could no longer accept its flaws, there was a need for it to grow; there was a need for it to mature.
And then there is Google plus which is taking social networking to the next level. In fact Google + is a social media growing up. It’s what we craved for in facebook as parents.
You might wonder what makes Google+ special or different from facebook. Here are some unique app features.
· Circles
· Hangouts
· Sparks
Circles
With this app, you have the ability to organize relationships; creating different kinds of groups such as friends, colleagues and the list goes on but it does not end there. The fun part is the ability to share your thoughts, content and photos with certain group of people or circles and not everyone. You might have noticed on facebook that whatever you post, gets seen by everyone but google+ has changed all that and given the user the ability to choose who to share photos and contents.
Hangouts
I love chatting and gisting with my friends but I discovered sometimes it takes a lot of planning so I am thrilled that google+ has granted my desire. How? The hangout is a new level of chatting with friends; the good old days are here to stay. Yes it’s true that I can do a video chat with my friends just like Skype but google + makes it better. The amazing thing is that I can do video chats with 10 of my friends just like a normal hangout. No matter how far they are, by just clicking the “join the hangout” button, it looks as if we are in the same room.
Sparks
Sparks is the integration of search engine into social networking. Whatever your interest is, just search with sparks and it just doesn’t end there; you could build a list of your interests so that you could keep abreast of what’s happening. This would not be fun if we kept it to ourselves, you know what I mean. This app gives us the ability to share information with our friends and even start a conversation. This is great for people who love sharing knowledge and good for gossips too.
Businesses are not left, Google + is working diligently to make apps in the future for entrepreneurs.
In all, google + has proved that social networking can mature, to every social network that wishes to know what it takes to grow up, check google +.

Very good, specific information in this hub.
I'm interesting in trying it out if I get an invitation, or when they open it up for everyone. I think I will enjoy it more than Facebook, if for no other reason than it's novelty. But, it does seem to offer some useful features. What will really make or break it, is if third-parties jump on board. Facebook has a very strong economy with apps and advertising.
